Welcome to our first “How To” Author, Rick Polson!

Rick, we’re glad to have you join us. Tell us about yourself—you know, all that stuff that makes you interesting!

I was born in Detroit in 1958 and moved to Cape Cod at 14. I went to college just outside of Boston and have traveled the globe since. I took my varied experiences including radio, ad agency and Disney and combined them into my book.

When and why did you begin writing?

This version is actually the 5th or 6th time I wrote the book.  It wasn’t until recently that I found people who could help me get published.

Why did you select this subject to write about?

The book is intended for new business owners.  With the change in the economy with more and more people opening up new businesses, I thought it was time for a step-by-step way to grow a business be made available.

The book is very organized as I feel new business owners need to be if they want to be successful in their business.

What other writer inspires you? Your work?

I am not a reader by habit. I am much more of an audio / visual person.  So I wrote the book to satisfy two things. 1) I showed I can do it and 2) to make it available to new business owners.

What’s your worst experience as a writer?

The frustration of not finding people to help finish the process.

I hear you’ve found Smashwords and Amazon—you finally got it out there. Congrats! We Indies are always ready to lend a hand to new writers. Do you have another work in progress? If yes, tell us about it.

Not yet, maybe by year’s end.

What do you want your fans to know about you and your work?

It comes from my experience and my heart to help them become a business owner superstar.

Tell us something about yourself that your readers don’t already know.

I am a huge sports fan—football, college basketball and golf.
